How do you know what type of make up to buy and if it will damage my face?

i want to look nice for my first dance and i dont know what to choose. i have blonde hair and blue eyes but dont know what color to choose.How do you know what type of make up to buy and if it will damage my face?

well u know it wont damage your face if it is not cheap and is from a well known name. If you have blue eyes, dont put anything blue on ur face. Put nutral colors on ur eyes ( but slight eyeliner, definately). On your cheeks, a light layer of hot pink blush and depending on the color of your dress, elegant lipstick under a layer of clear lipgloss.
BUT BARE MINERALS IT GOES ON TOP OF THE SKIN NOT IN THE OTHER MAKEUP STAYS IN YOUR SKIN FOOR WRINKLES AND STUFF
i heard about some make up called sheer cover the other day ... it is mineral based makeup and it wont clog your pores... and it has spf 15 to help protect your skin from the suns rays. its supposed to be really good.
Don't listen to whoever said ';Don't wear blue'; My sis looks amazing in blue shadows with her gorgeous blue eyes. Also try chocolate browns or shimmery, gorgeous neutrals. If you are willing to pay visit your local mall for foundation (Clinique is the best) but if not Almay works well. Eye shadows are a personal choice and can be bought from higher end names (my weakness) or Rimmel/ Loreal HIP/etc at your local Walgreens. To find your best blush color squeeze your hand into a fist for roughly five seconds then look at your fingers. Match that as closely as possible. You can also look at the inside of your lip. For lips, I would try a stain with a gloss. Revelon has stains out as do higher end makeup manufacturors.
Well you wouldn't know unless you tried or you can ask the place your buying it from if they don't know I would just use it if you have sensitive skin I wouldn't do that i would ask a professional.
I've heard many people say L'Oreal True Match Makeup you can buy at any drugstore and if you want the more expensive choice try bareMinerals it's a good makeup.
look on the labels of the make up you want to buy and ask ppl who work behind the cosmetics counter. also ask other ppl who are dancing 4 ideas.
