You should make-up. Never let a guy come between you and a friend. If he hits her/you, then it's her/your decision to leave.....If he's cheating on her/you, then, once again, it's her/your decision to leave.....

Punching is always a no no. Punching is for immature drama loving girls. If shes a real friend to you, you should be trying to make up with her and just resolve this thing, so you both can move on already
